Is this a problem that needs cleaning? You need to see what your mobile phase is HPLC column.
In general reversed phase chromatography, buffer salts are often used. Salt is more harmful to the column. If the salt is blocked inside the column, the column will be discarded. So you need to wash it off. It is best to wash it off every time.
If there is no salt in the mobile phase of your column, there is no need to rinse it.
Rinsing method: The reversed phase column is preferably stored in pure methanol or pure acetonitrile, but the salt is insoluble in the pure organic phase. So intermediate methanol water or acetonitrile water.
For example, if I use a mobile phase of phosphate buffer-acetonitrile (70:30), then it is best to use 10%-15% acetonitrile water for rinsing, rinse 1.0ml/min for at least 30min, preferably 40min.
If it is used the next day, it can be stored without using pure methanol or pure acetonitrile. If it is not used the next day, it is best to seal the column with a pure organic phase, also at a flow rate of 1.0 ml/min for 30 min.
In addition, it does not mean that it will be bad if it is not cleaned. When we develop HPLC column, sometimes we have time to flush the column in order to catch up with the project. The pillars won't be like. The life will be shorter.
This is the end of the introduction of Do you need to clean the HPLC column after each using? I hope it can help you.
